Nice oil rig 3D model

A nice oil rig 3d model.

The price is good too. The oil rig looks quite authentic. But it didn't come with textures and materials. But for the price, it is already very good. We can always easily texture the model.

The effects of shutter speed in photography

Understanding Shutter speed is crucial. It is the speed by which the shutter of the aperture closes.

Shutter speed determines how motion and movement show up in the image.

Usually, a longer shutter speed will cause movements to show up as blurred image. A higher shutter speed will allow clearer and more detailed non-stationary elements to be captured on the image.

Blurred images from longer shutter speed is can be capitalized. We can sometime use longer shutter speed to produce surreal and ethereal special photo shots. For instance, long night exposure shot of traffic can produce very interesting and stunning neon-light streaks. These streaks are caused by the car lights' path being capture nicely.

On the other hand, very fast shutter speed can capture details not normally seen by the human eye. For instance, liquid photography of water splashing from water droplets can produce nice stationary shots.

It is always interesting and worthwhile to try out various shutter speeds for creative photography. Try it and you may be surprised by the interesting and varied results that can be generated.

PS: One good place to look for good photography idea is Mushly.com

Inkscape- challenging commercial 2D vector graphics!

Inkscape - Inkscape is a free open source 2D vector drawing program. It is similar to Illustrator, Coreldraw and Freehand.

It saves in SVG format which is web-friendly.

It can also output graphics as bitmaps, making it compatible with GIMP.

GIMP- Replace Photoshop now

GIMP - Opensource 2D image editor comparable to the best commercial counterparts. Gimp have almost all the functionality of PhotoShop and Corel Photopaint. Gimp comes preloaded with tons of tileable textures-making capabilities making it ideal for making maps. A must have!! However, unlike PhotoShop and Corel PhotoPaint, it does not have CMYK capabilities, making it unsuitable for final output to print.

However, for general editing and producing graphics for the web, it is excellent. The compression quality for JPEG that comes with GIMP, in my opinion, is superior to Photoshop's. GIMP can produce good quality images with small file sizes.

The following site is build using GIMP graphics
